Set of four (4) photos mounted on thick cardboard. Taken by Southern Baptist missionary Dr. Thomas Ayers during his stay as a missionary in Huanxian northern China, from 1901 to 1926.

Shows everyday life of Chinese people in that area. One appears to be a funeral procession.

He was decorated by two presidents of China for work during a pulmonary plague, quarantine and Red Cross work during a civil war. He was the second living man to be honored with a monument in China, erected  in his honor in Huanxian after he left in 1926.

Card has damage, photos good shape.

Largest is  3 ¼” x 4 ¼”.
